Posture Training

What is the cause of pain? For most people, it's caused by their tight muscles from years of having poor posture, but poor posture is caused by the years of sitting that the vast majority of Americans have spent their lives doing. This constant sitting started when we were kids in the classroom and carries into adulthood as we continue to sit while working at our desk jobs. Just think about it -- we have been sitting for 8-12 hours a day since kindergarten, but the body was designed to MOVE for 8-12 hours a day. This chronic, unhealthy position causes an abundance of muscle tension that needs to be loosened. Here at Chiro Cleveland, not only will we treat those muscles with the chiropractic manipulation and massage therapy, but we can train you how to treat them as well. We have developed a whole system that is taught in a one-on-one instructional session, to teach you how to self-treat using a therapy ball and foam roller, and how to correct your posture when you're sitting, standing or moving. We split the training up into 4 sessions, so that we can cover as much as possible.

Position
The first section of each session focuses on teaching how to correct postural positions.

Session 1 - standing and sitting
Session 2 - bending and lifting
Session 3 - walking, breathing and sleeping.
Session 4 - push, pull and overhead press.

Exercise
The next section of each session will give you specific exercises to work on at home that will build strength in the weakened muscles caused by poor posture.

Session 1 - pelvic tilt exercise
Session 2 - squats and dead-lifts
Session 3 - walking
Session 4 - arm exercises
Mobilization
The majority of each session will be spent giving detailed instruction on how to self-treat using a foam roll and a therapy ball to break up the stiffness in each muscle of your body, from head to toe.

Session 1 - mid back and lower back
Session 2 - legs
Session 3 - neck and core
Session 4 - arms
