Custom Shoe Orthotics

If every person had a strong arch in their feet then many ankle, knee, hip, pelvis and low back problems would be eliminated. Unfortunately, that's not always the case.

A low arch, known as a pronated foot, throws off the movement dynamic of the entire lower half of the body. This causes the knee to turn inwards, the hips outwards, causing  a deeper arch in the low back and strain on all of these joints. Many individuals are able to walk around with these low arches for years without any problems. Eventually though, it catches up with them, often when starting a new job which requires being on their feet for long hours. Some common conditions are plantar fascitis, heel spurs, shin splints, ankle pain, knee pain, hip pain, and low back pain.

At Chiro Cleveland, we screen our patients for foot pronation and determine the health of their arch and pay attention to overall posture to see where the weakness is.

Shoe Orthotics are custom made shoe inserts that replace the insole of your normal shoes which corrects the low arches of your foot.  Most health insurance plans cover the cost of the orthotics which are custom fitted in our office by the chiropractor.
